Land Day 2025

FREE THE PEOPLE, FREE THE LAND

Land Day 2025 was marked in Vancouver with great indigenous solidarity, a look back at protests for the original Land Day in 1976 and a spirited militant march through the downtown core.

Land Day has a special significance as it highlights Palestinian and indigenous attachment to the land, and the continuing Zionist land theft.

There is a long and proud history of marking Land Day. On April 3, 1976, local activists held a protest with the theme of “Support the Palestinian people’s uprising against the Zionist racist aggression”. This year’s event honoured the homemade flag done up by a community member at that time, which has been preserved for 49 years.

Let’s Boycott Israel: Meeting Feb. 13

Join us for this important educational and strategy planning event on Thursday, February 13, 7 pm at 1803 E. 1st Ave., Vancouver as BDS Vancouver-Coast Salish marks its ten year anniversary.

Our panel will include presentations on multiple local campaigns from Shame on Scotiabank, to Boycott Indigo Books, to Ban Israeli Wines and more. This will be followed by break-out sessions for further discussion, as we work to build BDS Campaigns as one part of the strategy for the liberation of Palestine.

We hope to see you there!

Photo/Video highlights of Scotiabank Days of Action

Pickets in multiple cities and towns happened as part of the Days of Action to tell Scotiabank to divest completely from Israeli arms dealer Elbit Systems. There were 12 announced locations across the country where activists were out on the streets to demand that Scotiabank stop funding genocide!

The accompanying Action Network writing campaign has already resulted in over 5700 letters being sent to Scotiabank and its global asset fund with the same message. Please send your letter if you haven’t already done so.
